Jules Jurgensen 1740 25 Jewels Self-winding Watch

This stunning Jules Jurgensen vintage watch model is a little treasure to have on the wrist. Jules Jurgensen watches are no longer in production, so this is a limited edition watch that is very rare to find, and that grows in value each year.

Pairing a beautiful gold-tone dial with a black leather strap, the watch encases a 25 Jewels self-winding movement, which keeps time with high precision. The 35-diameter case is a perfect fit for medium wrist sizes for men, or medium to large wrist sizes for women.

As you can see in the photos, the watch has been very well preserved. Once it is purchased, our watchmaker will change the crystal of the dial, as its original one is slightly cracked.

If you're looking for an exquisite vintage timepiece that has stood the test of time remarkably well, we highly recommend Jules Jurgensen watches

Jules Jurgensen was a watchmaking company founded by Jürgen Jürgensen in 1773 in Denmark, when Jürgen Jürgensen went into partnership with Isaac Larpent, under the name "Larpent & Jürgensen".

Upon Jürgen's death in 1811, his son Urban took over the company, keeping the name. It was changed in 1814. Jules Jürgensen produced most of its watches in Switzerland. Jules Jürgensen was sold to a U.S.-based company in 1936, but watches were still produced in Switzerland until 1957, when the documentation shows the watches were made by other manufacturers and branded with the Jürgensen name.

Vintage Jules Jurgensen watches are rare timepieces of high-quality design and craftsmanship. Over the years, many of the models have become collectibles and have considerably increased in value.

About mechanical watches

mechanical watch is a watch that uses a clockwork mechanism to measure the passage of time, as opposed to quartz watches which function electronically, with the help of a small battery.

A mechanical watch is driven by a mainspring which must be hand-wound periodically. Its force is transmitted through a series of gears to power balance, a weighted wheel that oscillates back and forth at a constant rate. A device called an escapement releases the watch's wheels to move forward a small amount with each swing of the balance wheel, moving the watch's hands forward at a constant rate.
