Art Deco Seiko Solar 17 Jewels 526 Watch
This RARE Art Deco Seiko Solar 17 Jewels is one of the most beautiful Seiko watches in our collection. The Japanese watch dates back to circa the 1960s, and these models are rarely seen outside of Japan. The watch case has a unique shape and given the small size, it will be the perfect choice for an art deco outfit.
The front case is gold-plated, and the watch comes with stainless steel back.
Diashock is the name of Seiko Watch Corporations’s proprietary anti-shock system (or shock absorber) for mechanical/automatic watch movements. It was introduced in 1956 in the Seiko Marvel, as part of the brand’s first movement that was fully built from scratch in-house.

Seiko History
The Seiko brand has its roots in Tokyo and its history started back to 1881. Although in the beginning, the founder had a small business in watch repairing, after eleven years he established the " Seikosha" factory. In Japanese, "Seiko" means "exquisite", "success", " minute" and "Sha" means house. After more than 130 years of innovations and hundreds of watch models ( from pocket watches to chronographs, divers, LCD's and voice recording watches), Seiko is still dedicated to achieving grand perfection.
The first watches produced under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world's first production quartz watch; when it was introduced, it cost the same as a medium-sized car. Seiko later went on to introduce the first quartz chronograph.
In the late 1980s, Seiko produced the first automatic quartz that combined the self-energizing attributes of an automatic watch with quartz accuracy. The watch is entirely powered by its movement in everyday wear. In 1991, to increase popularity, these watches were relaunched under the name Seiko Kinetic.
