Powered by a durable Japan quartz movement, this vintage Seiko watch has stood the test of time with great success. The watch comes with a 23-mm gold-tone case, a beautiful black dial, and we have paired it with a textured brown leather strap.
This vintage Seiko 2838-0050 A0 is a unisex watch model perfect for tiny/small wrist sizes. The watch has a classic, vintage design, and it comes with an exciting tiny sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The Seiko brand has its roots in Tokyo and its history started back to 1881. Although in the beginning, the founder had a small business in watch repairing, after eleven years he established the " Seikosha" factory. In Japanese, "Seiko" means "exquisite", "success", " minute" and "Sha" means house. After more than 130 years of innovations and hundreds of watch models ( from pocket watches to chronographs, divers, LCD's and voice recording watches), Seiko is still dedicated to achieving grand perfection.
The first watches produced under the Seiko brand appeared in 1924. In 1969, Seiko introduced the Astron, the world's first production quartz watch; when it was introduced, it cost the same as a medium-sized car. Seiko later went on to introduce the first quartz chronograph.
In the late 1980s, Seiko produced the first automatic quartz that combined the self-energizing attributes of an automatic watch with quartz accuracy. The watch is entirely powered by its movement in everyday wear. In 1991, to increase popularity, these watches were relaunched under the name Seiko Kinetic. ____________
