In this article, we unbox the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter watch with a 40-mm case and a stunning emerald green dial. Whether interested in purchasing the first chronograph in the Timex Marlin® line, or just willing to admire the beautiful details of this watch model, we invite you to read along.
A few words about Timex
One of the most recognizable names in the industry of watchmaking, Timex is an American brand that has stood the test of time with flying colors thanks to its innovative spirit. From pocket watches, to mechanical wristwatches, to elegant quartz watches, Timex defied all the challenges of the market throughout the years. Now it stands triumphant with over 1 billion watches sold over the years, and a committed audience that simply loves Timex watches.
The Timex Marlin® line is one of their most esteemed collections, especially cherished by vintage watch lovers. In fact, it's precisely that vintage elegance that got us excited when first seeing the recently-released Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter watch.
The Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter Watch
Now, as promised, let's go ahead and marvel at the beauty of the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter watch. We opted for the green-dial chronograph with a light brown leather strap, but you should know that this model is also available with a navy blue dial.
A first glance at the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter
Below we have a first glimpse of the watch, a timepiece that bewitched us from the first moment with the unique color of its dial:
The shade of emerald green has a slight change in color when you look at it from the side. The acrylic crystal of the watch is reflective, but not too much. It's just enough to let some beautiful light shine on the watch, while still allowing you to read the time from every angle. And to take lovely photos of your timepiece, like we tried to do here.
A close-up of the dial and case
Looking more closely at the dial, we discover three numerals, at 3, 9 and 12 o'clock, which add a retro touch to the design of the watch. We have a useful date window between the 4 and 5 o'clock hour markers. And, of course, the three sub-dials, that serve to indicate the seconds, the minute hand of the chronograph function, and 24-hour time.
The 40-mm silver-tone case borders the ring of numerals that assist the tachymeter function. Two aviator-style pushers add their unique mark to the design of the watch, making it stand out on the wrist, whilst having an effortless, sporty touch.
Thanks to the short lugs of the watch, this Timex Marlin® Chronograph will also fit smaller wrist sizes. While the height of the watch is not big, the pushers make it appear a tad larger on the wrist, casually exceeding the boundaries of its 40-mm stainless steel case.
The brown leather strap
After wearing the watch for a few days, we came to value its extra-comfortable leather strap. Highly qualitative, the strap also has a very aesthetically-pleasing design, and it quickly adapts to the shape of your wrist.
As shown in the photo above, the strap has a quick-release system. So you can easily take it out and replace it, at home, at the push of a button. This is a very practical feature that we usually find in more expensive watches, and we're glad Timex introduced it for this watch model as well. It's an easy way to personalize your watch, and adapt its design for different occasions - from sporty adventures to classy events or work wear.
How the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter looks on the wrist
Finally, let's have a look at this impactful timepiece on the wrist! Let's see this stunning green dial in action:
With a stylish aviator look, the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter watch is definitely a versatile timepiece that still won't go unnoticed, no matter the outfit. Whether it's a casual pair of jeans or a semi-formal outfit, the Timex Marlin® Chronograph will add a great finishing touch.
The vintage style of the strap and the pushers is beautifully balanced by the modern design of the emerald-green dial. And the charming aesthetic of the piece is further enhanced by the domed watch crystal.
Possibly one of the most beautiful watches we got to photograph, we dare say that the Timex Marlin® Chronograph Tachymeter with the green dial is definitely a chronograph watch worth investing in. If you're passionate about the design of your timepiece and don't mind a quartz movement, this may well be the perfect chronograph watch for you.
